Sometimes we can all find it hard to cope.

I believe counselling can help.

My name is Nicola Farrow. I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer non-judgmental counselling irrespective of your age, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

I support and work with individuals and couples who are experiencing a wide range of issues, such as, anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship issues, separation, divorce, low self-esteem, anger and bereavement. I work on an open-ended basis as well as short term.

I have consulting rooms situated in Balham London SW17 and Coulsdon Surrey CR5 both of which have ample parking with good train and bus links.

I have worked in a variety of settings including the Relate institute, counselling agencies, and as part of a mental health team. I now work mainly in private practice.

I am bound by the BACP ethical guidelines which means that I also attend regular professional supervision and undertake continuous professional training and development.

I offer a Psychodynamic approach to therapy which looks at how past experiences might shape and influence our thinking in regards to both our present relationships with others and our relationships with ourselves. I also work within an integrative model which includes aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), systemic and humanistic. This means I use different theoretical models as appropriate to each person’s individual issues to help them to explore and work through their difficulties.

How I Work

At the start of our work we will agree boundaries of confidentiality. This will hopefully give you the freedom to talk about things you may not feel comfortable or safe enough to discuss with your family or friends.

I usually see clients once a week at the agreed time each week. This can be on an open-ended basis, or for a fixed number of sessions.

I offer a psychodynamic approach to therapy where your current problems are explore in-depth at the same time(s) every week. Together we can reflect on how you respond to events in your life and begin to explore the way you relate to yourself and others. I will not tell you what to do or give advice, but will help you to work towards developing a greater sense of your self awareness and well being.
